Street style for spring

Looking smart doesn’t always mean suiting up and for a lot of activities, tailoring isn’t the smart choice. If you tend to associate the urban look with slack styling, you may want to think again, particularly as bold colours are big news this spring and a lot of the quality streetwear out there taps into this trend perfectly. With this in mind, we’ve picked out three must-have items for the season ahead.

Old School Trainers

If you struggle to match up wearing sneakers with looking smart, you should consider trying out some more retro styling. The Nike Blazers at size? are a good example of a classic sneaker that doesn’t look out of place worn with some smart jeans, matched up with the piece of clothing that is usually more commonly called ‘blazer’.  Unfussy sneakers in classic bold colours and fabrics such as suede straddle smart well and offer the bonus of comfort too.

Satchel

Leather satchels are everywhere at the moment, with the most expensive designs featuring engraving or monograms of the lucky owner’s name. These don’t come cheap, but there’s nothing saying you have to buy brand new. You can pick up a worn satchel in a thrift store very cheaply and if you do, it should complement your retro sneakers too.

Chinos

These have been popular for a fair few seasons now and just keep coming back, with recent offerings falling into the more comfy and colourful camp. Not quite as casual as denim the chino has become a failsafe for men who want something stylish but not too formal.
